HIP HOP RECORDING ARTIST L. DOT

Leon Hinton (born March,1984), better known by stage name L. Dot ®, is an upcoming Hip-hop performing artist, recording artist and entrepreneur in Central Texas. He's best known for producing bold Hip-hop music  with lyrics about real-life experiences, obstacles, and living in his truth. L. Dot ®, combines a North and East Coast sound with his fast and slick lyrical style similar to artist such as Kendrick Lamarand Eminem. He first gained attention at the age of 15 when he was doing rap battles in his hometown of Washington, D.C., under the name. He then took a break from working on music, L. Dot ® would later come back to release his first mix-tape "Back

To The Basic" in 2017. This mix-tape was composed of beats he enjoyed to help redevelop his roots in music. He's since released a catalog of music and  became the founder of #BARLIFE Inc., abbreviated for "Be A Real Life Influence For Everyone" a movement with a roster of music artist. L. Dot® has performed with music icons, Paul Wall, Cassidy, Kirko Bangz, Baby Bash and Lil Flip. He's made appearances for performing at notable festivals like the Drop The Beat Music Festival.

L. Dot®, born Leon Hinton, was raised by his mother Raynell Hinton on the Southside of D.C. This is where he began free-styling and writing lyrics at the age of 8 being influenced by music artist such as Jay Z, Nas, and Eminem. Early into his teenage years, Leon would become heavily involved with battle rap later changing his stage name to L. Dot ®. He would continue his music career well into joining the military where he would have small recording sessions and rap battles with members of his squad. There came a time of hardship in L. Dot ®'s life that would place his career to be a Hip-Hop artist on hold.

It wasn't until 2017 that L. Dot ® started writing again, working towards creating music that would give an adrenaline rush to his audience with his unique word play and his quick rhyming flow. The year 2017 was beyond a doubt, an opening year for L. Dot ® as he release 3 projects that year. First he released  "Back To The Basic" which was a mix-tape that accommodated  beats that L. Dot ® was intrigued by on the path to continue his music journey. "Society' Product" was his first debut solo album as a Indie Hip Hop artist that included 8 tracks showing his lyrical abilities as an artist. "Verse-L-Til-a-Te - The Definition" was an album where L. Dot ® took the time to introduce how versatile he can be with his word play. The album included tracks like Breath Once Again,  Lean A Lot, and Collateral Damage which was inspired by "Ross Capicchioni" by Joyner Lucas. "When I first heard the song by Joyner, I thought that was the most talented way to tell a story in hip hop form to that degree. So I challenged myself to make a story that can affect the world...if they listened"  L. Dot ® signed a distribution deal this same year with Sony to further boost him in his music career.

His latest album "Back to Black"  released July 2020, and streaming with over 5 thousand views. L. Dot ® spoke on the album, explaining  that the album was made during one of the worst periods of his life. A time when he was reeling from the death of his daughter, Lenni. The album was a personal revelation as he told the stories of how he's no longer battling the harsh reality that life has thrown at him. That this was a turning point in his life, and the reason why he created  #BARLIFE Inc. to be a Movement. He used his music so he could encourage others to stand strong and to never give up. L. Dot ®'s newest album release "Back To Black", is already sparking mainstream media attention. In this album he took advantage of more flow and wordplay ,using his dominating style on the instrumental  beats from renowned producers.

"Breath Once Again was attention grabbing into. Good song with a message that could relate across generations. reminded me of Slick Rick, DMX, or Andre 3000: in how they told stories with their raps." - Angela Robert, SENOJ Consulting

With the world at a stand still due to Covid-19, L. Dot ® is not planning to slowing down no time soon as he just signed with Mahayana Management to promote and manage his music career. He's continuing to add performance dates to his calendar, do live interviews, have press conferences and radio spins played on mainstream networks. L. Dot ®, is also known for being innovated when it comes to laying down a track in the studio. When performing, L. Dot ® barely breaks a sweat, naturally keeping the audience engaged and entertained.
